Upstream Professionals Inc., (UPI) is an oil and gas Consulting company that provides upstream optimization services using a special "Framework” Methodology to maximize operations efficiencies.  The focus is to assess your Well Life Cycle Management (WLM) environment to identify processes that need improvement, evaluate your current IT infrastructure for completeness and effectiveness, and to prioritize key areas that need enhancement & performance improvement.

The chart below shows where the Well Master Data Strategy fits within your organization.  Processes and data need to be aligned between departments to enable immediate accurate information before you can even go to the next level of Reporting & Dashboards.  Upstream Professionals will work with our clients to understand their processes and leverage the existing systems in your environment to achieve your "Vision" of optimization.  UPI developed the TAM solution to easily configure an Intelligence layer between your data and desired reporting to align processes and information so they are consistent across your departments and applications.

Well Master Strategy & Master Data Alignment

The UPI WLM Framework is leveraged within operations to drive out inefficiencies & waste, to streamline operations processes, & provide immediate, accurate information for better decision-making.  Optimization is achieved through business & IT assessments to align multi-disciplined teams, business processes and information flows resulting in an integrated platform conducive for collaboration amongst team members and applying Best Practices to maximize your investments in operations.  The resulting environment becomes a trusted foundation for measuring performance achievements and quickly drilling down to problematic areas.

Starts with a Vision

The success of the “Framework” implementation will depend on the “Visionary Leadership” of your organization.  It is imperative to have Executive sponsorship at an early stage as business processes and responsibilities will change, but this new “enablement” will significantly increase the productivity of your people and resources.

UPI offers high impact services & solutions to oil and gas companies to optimize operations efficiencies and improve revenues & profits as a result.  The UPI Framework approach improves collaboration and communications within an organization around operations, improves the visibility of key information elements to all departments, and provides expertise in company systems management, and internal / external reporting required.

The UPI Framework Methodology is designed to assess your company’s environment ability to efficiently and effectively manage and maximize your investments in your people, processes and technology.  This approach is supported by additional UPI products and services designed to optimize your operational environment.

To continuously monitor, analyze and control performance achievements, UPI will leverage our WLM Framework methodology and software application to assess the gaps in your environments and customize solutions, while leveraging your existing systems.

How it works

The focus of our efforts is to understand your current business and IT environments, determine the gaps, and recommend solutions with the highest impact.  The goal is to leverage your current systems and add value by streamlining your  workflows, and adding high-impact functionality and clarity to your existing environment.  The Framework has the flexibility to position your company to adapt to change through future acquisitions and aggressive drilling.

To implement a client’s WLM Strategy, TAM was developed to address the major problems facing most operators today, which are process inconsistencies, data inconsistencies and clarity across departments and functional areas to provide immediate and accurate reporting capabilities.  TAM delivers information quickly and easily to all users, including all levels of management in easily constructed views and reports, and well as monitoring, analysis and decision support functionality for deeper insight into your operations performance.

The UPI Documenter software application compliments the WLM Strategy and provides documented process charting, including sub processes, resource assignments, and primary sources of key information elements.  Documenter is a helpful tool for adhering to SoX compliance.

The TAM software solution provides a solid foundation for establishing benchmarks for operations and financial performance achievements and drives business performance monitoring, management and analysis and reporting capabilities.  Some examples of these supportive capabilities include;  dashboards, scorecards, exception-based reporting and other high-impact performance tools.
